Children's Day/Dia de los Ninos at the Library!

The Library and the Museum collaborated on Children's Day/Dia de los Ninos on Saturday, April 21 by holding events at each location. The Library offered bilingual storytimes, crafts, and refreshments. Tickets were handed out to over 155 participants. The winner got the beautiful pinata you see pictured here. Everyone had a great time and learned a little more about Hispanic culture and customs. Some parents asked that it become an annual event. What a great idea!

Now that tax season is over, it's time to start planning for summer and maybe a getaway with the family. The Library has some great books that will help you and your family decide where they'd like to go and what they'd like to do when they get there. National Geographic's Guide to Family Adventure Vacations is perfect for the family with older kids who enjoy nature and wildlife. If your favorite things include hiking, swimming, canoing, and camping, this book is for you. You'll find a variety of destinations with lots of information about what to do and tips on getting there.

Do you hate to hear the words "are we there yet?" If so, "Are We There Yet?" is for you. Here are lots of travel games for children of all ages that will make every trip fun whether it's cross town or cross country.
