Summary Parenthood ()

Nicky gets a reality check when her absent father shrugs her off. An illegal immigrant is robbed of his cash. His son accidentally kills the robber. Danny coaches the son in making a statement which would get him a lower sentence.

Danny reluctantly handles the case of illegal but hard-working immigrant Fernando Ortiz, who after another predatory attack by ex-con White Supremacist Timothy Abbey at home on his wife and son Manny confesses -police-coached to stress the self-defense factor- having run after and shot the thug, but there's a twist. The Reagans are divided whether to sympathize with Erin's legalistic prosecution of out of line student protester Ariel Winston who got arrested at a rally supported by Nicky, while Frank wrestles with Ariel's delicate secret bloodline.

When a man's family is robbed and beaten in front of him, and the assailant is shot and killed, the Reagan's debate about how far they would go to protect their family. Meanwhile, when a college student is arrested at a rally, Frank wrestles with her sentence due to her identity.
